The Best Bread Pudding
When it comes to easy recipes, this bread pudding couldn't be simpler. Filled with cinnamon and nutmeg, it's the perfect recipe for breakfast or dessert.
ingredients
- 1 French bread of 16 oz
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Sauce:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350.
- Spray a 9-inch x 13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Cut the bread into 1 "-2" squares and add to a large bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg until combined.
- Pour over bread and stir gently to coat, let soak for about 20 minutes.
- Spread in a baking dish and bake for about 50 to 60 minutes until the center is set.
- In a saucepan, whisk the sugar, flour and heavy cream until smooth.
- Add your butter and heat over medium heat until the butter melts and the liquid begins to boil.
- Whisk until slightly thickened then remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
