The Best Bread Pudding

When it comes to easy recipes, this bread pudding couldn't be simpler. Filled with cinnamon and nutmeg, it's the perfect recipe for breakfast or dessert.

ingredients

  • 1 French bread of 16 oz
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Sauce:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350.
  2. Spray a 9-inch x 13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Cut the bread into 1 "-2" squares and add to a large bowl.
  4. In another bowl, whisk milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg until combined.
  5. Pour over bread and stir gently to coat, let soak for about 20 minutes.
  6. Spread in a baking dish and bake for about 50 to 60 minutes until the center is set.
  7. In a saucepan, whisk the sugar, flour and heavy cream until smooth.
  8. Add your butter and heat over medium heat until the butter melts and the liquid begins to boil.
  9. Whisk until slightly thickened then remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
